"For over a century, the NAACP has been proud to galvanize the Black vote, ensuring our voices are heard on the most pressing policy issues for our community.
THE 2025 MANDATE FOR LEADERSHIP
The proposed policies under Project 2025 include significant rollbacks in regulatory protections, reductions in social welfare programs, the dismantling of the federal civil service workforce, and ban any focus on equity. It's implementation threatens to reverse decades of progress in civil rights, social justice, and equity, particularly impacting Black and marginalized communities.
NAACP President reacts to President-elect Trump’s Cabinet Appointments.
From accused criminals to confirmed authors of Project 2025, the President-elect's cabinet appointments present a daunting outlook for the next four years".
Let's be clear - Our 2025 should be a year that advances the progress made in the last four years, not seek to revert it." —

Our purpose is grounded in three approaches woven deeply into the fabric of who we are. Collectively, we refer to them as our ‘DNA,’ and we embed them affirmatively in all our work.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 remains one of the hardest-fought safeguards for Black Americans and other minority groups as it relates to voting. The power, agency, and access to vote is a civil right for all.
The most recent attempt to strengthen the right to vote is the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

"We've said it before and we'll say it again - there is no place for hate in a democracy. The threat — and the mention of slavery in 2024 — is not only deeply disturbing, but perpetuates a legacy of evil that dates back to before the Jim Crow era, and now seeks to prevent Black Americans from enjoying the same freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. These actions are not normal. And we refuse to let them be normalized."
If you are contacted or become aware of anyone receiving threatening text messages—whether they contain threats of violence, enslavement, spitting, physical assault, or any other form of intimidation—please report this information immediately to the State Conference at naacppastateconference@gmail.com and include Anthony Ashton in the Office of the General Counsel at aashton@naacpnet.org.
